JUSTIFICATION

The Education for Sexuality and Construction of Citizenship program is an initiative of the Ministry of National Education and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), whose purpose is to contribute to the strengthening of the education sector in the implementation and sustainability of a sexuality education policy with a focus on the exercise of human, sexual and reproductive rights.

The program seeks that the Educational Institution develop pedagogical projects of education for sexuality that tend to the development of basic competences for the making of responsible, informed and autonomous decisions about the body itself, based on respect for the dignity of every human being in a way that the plurality of identities and forms of life are valued and the experience and the construction of peaceful, equitable, and democratic relationships of the couple, family and social are promoted.

This project differs from what has traditionally been, sex education in the country in many cases are limited to biological aspects and the risks associated with sexual; this proposal conceives sexuality as a human dimension with diverse functions, components and contexts and its treatment in the school under the framework of the development of citizen competences that aim at the training of active subjects of rights.

The implementation of educational projects for sexuality education is based on a series of modules as an element of work for strategic actions, these modules explain the general way of the pedagogical proposal.
